Current 2020 Programming

Due to the impacts of COVID-19 we will not be offering our usual programming schedule.  See below for the latest offerings.

Please note: As you know EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED! PRT is closely watching the CDC and Virginia State Re-open Regulations and has your safety and our safety as top priority. All PRT activities will be held following the CURRENT CDC guidelines and Virginia State Re-open Regulations (remember these are changing weekly). We will conduct screenings before each class, please arrive 5-10 minutes early, masks are required to enter/exit buildings (NOT required during workouts), and social distancing of at least 10 feet will be practiced. Sharing of equipment is not allowed, each student must have their own equipment. All participants must pre-register, if registration minimums are not met by the deadline, the session will be canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience that these regulations impose and ask for your cooperation as we all try to stay well during this pandemic.

Fall Recreation


For ages 18 and older.   A complete YOGA experience to improve or maintain flexibility, strength, balance and lung capacity.  A chair replaces the mat, making this class accessible to everyone.  Monday or Friday, 11:00 am to Noon, Whitcomb Lodge

Instructor Nichole Knott.   For ages 13 and up.  Want to develop a balance of strength and flexibility?   Hatha Yoga refers to the balance of actions and reception-uniting the Mind/Body/Breath through classic Indian asanas (postures).  Get ready for a great workout!  Tuesdays, 5:30-6:45 pm, Whitcomb Lodge.

WOW, Working on Wellness

September Instructor: Paula Stefanic, October & November Instructor: Sherry Stikeleather.  For ages 55 and older.  Combine mild cardio, gentle stretching, strength training and balance retraining for the perfect fitness program.  Bring an exercise or yoga mat, 1 hand held weight, 1 ankle weight and water.  Fridays, 9:30-10:30 am, Whitcomb Lodge

Fall Youth Sports


Registration for fall soccer has opened. While our hope is that the season will be as normal as possible, we don’t quite yet know what the situation will be in September. Whether it’s a regular season or skills, drills and conditioning, your child is guaranteed to have fun!



Camp in a Bag is an at home activity featuring games, challenges, hunts, crafts, etc. Elementary age Campers will enjoy activities on Birding, Weather, Animals and more. Activities from National Recreation and Parks Association's Wildlife Explorers, Virginia Cooperative Extension and Gloucester Library included. Camp in a bag "Bags" must be picked up from the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office, 6382 Main Street, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. ages 5-11. #720110, $15.


Pop Ups are activities in the parks, run by PRT Staff. FUN, SILLY AND ACTIVE are the key words for Pop Ups! Each one will focus on a theme. Pop Ups are free. Wear active clothes and shoes, no flip flops, open toe shoes or crocs. Bring water and drink water during the day to arrive hydrated. Ages 5-13. #730110, FREE.
