The PR&T Department and the Gloucester Historical Committee are helping children learn more about Pocahontas. The project will include several activities for children and Gloucester County 4th grade students will have an opportunity to earn extra credit by participating in a passport program. Information will be provided to the students in late October/early November.
On November 14th – through a partnership with the Cook Foundation and Gloucester County Public Schools, all 4th graders will attend a performance from the Virginia Repertory Theatre at TC Walker Education Center.
Passport Program – Travel to different sites at the Festival to learn and explore. 4th grade students who complete the program will be entered into a contest to win prizes such as (5) $25 gift certificates provided to Office Supply of Gloucester provided by Marsha Weatherwax Allstate Insurance and the Office Supply store . While prizes are for the 4th graders who are studying Virginia History, the activity is open to all children and everyone will receive a Pocahontas sticker for participating.
