Gloucester Point Beach Park is located on the bank of the York River.
This beautiful park has a large, shady and grassy area with picnic tables
and a shelter. The swimming area and sandy beach are perfect
for sunbathing, wading, sand castles and beach fun! The handicapped
accessible Beach House, which is open seasonally, has a concession stand,
restrooms and outdoor shower.
For the fishing enthusiast,
drop a line from the fishing pier. N-Out Convenience Store and
Gloucester Tourism sponsor the Saltwater Fishing License. This license enables free
fishing (no salt water license required) from the pier for everyone!
If you are planning a gathering you
can rent the Picnic Shelter! The shelter is conveniently located
near the volleyball court, restrooms, outdoor shower,
concessions stand, beach and fishing pier. If offers a wonderful view of the York
River. Rental fees are $25 for 1/2 a day (from 10 am to 3 pm or 4 to 9
pm) or $50 for a full
day (from 10 am to 9 pm). To check the availability of your date visit

log in as Guest and search facilities for the calendar. Once you
know your date is open, call us at 804-693-2355 to place your
reservation. Reservations may be paid for at our office or
on-line.
Several picnic areas are located throughout the park for your
gathering. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are located at each site. There
is no fee to use these sites and they are available on a first come first served basis.

In
May, 2006 the Gloucester Point Landing reopened! Hurricane Isabel
damaged the upriver landing so badly it was closed from September 2003
until May of 2006. The landings parking lot has been paved with
vehicle/trailer spaces marked to make sure the space is utilized to the
