2010 Daffodil Festival Poster Contest

 The Daffodil Festival Committee consists of volunteers and representatives from the community and Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.  Our goal is to provide a festival that celebrates the heritage of Gloucester, promotes a positive image, creates a sense of community spirit, and provides beautification to Gloucester County.

Entry Deadline: 
Saturday, October 17, 2009 – 2 pm

Prize:  $1000 and Honorable Mention:  $250

The poster will be sold prior to, during and after the Daffodil Festival.
The festival will be held on Saturday, March 27 & Sunday March 28, 2010

1.       The poster will be sold prior to, during & after the Daffodil Festival.

2.      The festival will be held on Saturday, March 27 & Sunday March 28, 2010.  The winning artist is expected to attend the Poster Unveiling/dance and Daffodil Festival.

3.      The entry fee is $20.00 per entry, with no limit on the number of entries. Please make checks payable to: Gloucester County.

4.      Types of work – Original artwork in any medium.  Artwork should not have been entered in previous contests.  The artwork must include daffodils in a creative but realistic interpretation (note: all daffodils have 6 petals).  The artwork must not have been previously reproduced.

5.      Submissions of Artwork:  Artwork should be hand delivered to the Gloucester Library, 6920 Main Street, Gloucester, between 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2009 or between 10:00 am & 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2009.  2 pm is the absolute deadline.

6.      The finished artwork on paper should be matted & framed; all oils & acrylics should be framed.  Oils & acrylics must be completely dry.  Your artwork should be no smaller than 12” X 16”.  The Daffodil Festival Committee reserves the right to modify the winning design in accordance with the printing process.

7.      The Daffodil Festival Committee cannot accept liability for damage or loss of any artwork, for any cause while in their possession.

8.      The Daffodil Festival Committee will display the contest entries at the Gloucester Main Library from October 17 through November 13, 2009.  Artists must pick up artwork from the library on Saturday, November 14 between 10:00 am & 2:00 pm.  Please do not pick up artwork at any other time.

9.      The artwork chosen for the 2010 Daffodil Festival Poster becomes the property of the Daffodil Festival Committee & Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism.

10.  The unveiling of the poster will be held at 7 pm on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St Therese Church, 6262 Main St.
