For ages
13 & older. Get a cardiovascular workout. STEP is part of this session,
avoiding heavy stress on joints or having to jog or jump. Bring your own
step or the instructor will provide one. Classes taught by Suellen Hooper.
Each session meets 3 days per week 6:00-7:00 pm Mondays & Wednesdays
(Church of St. Therese) and Thursdays @ Botetourt. $25/session BELLY DANCE For ages 12 & older (under 18 MUST have written permission from parent at studio). In this 8-week session you will learn the basics of this exciting and ancient art form. This medium-impact workout will give you a full-body workout while learning how to execute hip and snake-like movements. The class includes a warm-up, a drill/practice component and then ends with a yoga-inspired stretching sequence. $64 per person; all classes are held at the Body Wave Studio at Mid-County Center.

Tuesdays 11:00 am -12:00 noon MOVE WITH ME For ages 3-6 with parent/guardian participation! Spend quality time together while exercising. This class is designed to train & strengthen large muscle groups. Explore the possibilities through movement and music and teach your child the important of physical activity. Participants will use shapes, colors, rhythm and more to make this workout a fun game! $64 per team; all classes are held at the Body Wave Studio at Mid-County Center.

Wednesdays 5:00-5:50 pm KINDER FIT & FUN For ages 3-6. In this ongoing class children will explore the possibilities of music, movement, and expression through the use of scarves, colors, shapes, and more. Children will learn to work as a team but will build confidence to work independently. The full body workout will include some traditional fitness elements as well as incorporate some dance movements. $64 per child; all classes are held at the Body Wave Studio at Mid-County Center.
Tuesdays 5:30-6:15 pm ONE STROKE PAINTING For ages 12 & older. Do you wish you could paint? This class teaches you how to properly load paint on the brush, allowing you to blend, shade, and highlight all in ONE STROKE! You will learn the basics of decorative painting, and will finish with a project of your own. The fee includes the project piece and use of the instructors paints and supplies. Classes instructed by Valerie Rice, a One Stroke Certified Instructor, $40 per class (6:00-9:00 and $50 for Birdhouse/Wildflower Canvas).

Page 7:00 9:00 pm YOGA CLASSES It is suggested that beginners wishing to do individual classes come to the 1st or 2nd class in the session. Power Stretch Instructor: Nancy Wilson For ages 13 & older. Do you enjoy a good workout? This class uses a classic Indian Toga (Hatha) which combines breathing, physical actions & relaxation techniques to strengthen both body & mind. $30/session or $6 for individual classes.

@ Botetourt 5:30-6:45 pm Just ONCE Guitar for Busy People For Beginners, ages 13 & up. Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you wont have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Bring your acoustic guitar. Required materials fee of $29 will be collected in class by the instructor for workbook and practice DVD. Class is Saturday, February 27 at the Whitcomb Lodge, Beaverdam Park. Fee is $25 per person.

THE MATERIALS FEE IS STILL DUE FOR BOTH CLASSES** Just ONCE How to Play Guitar By Ear For ages 13 & up. Learn one of musics deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the Instant Guitar class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Prior experience with guitar chords recommended. Materials fee of $29 for the How to Play Guitar by Ear Book and Practice CD will be collected in class by the instructor. Class is Saturday, February 27 at the Whitcomb Lodge, Beaverdam Park. Fee is $25 per person.
