2017 Classic Results: The Classic had beautiful weather and some beautiful fish. I want to thank everyone for a wonderful year. We will throw some dates out there for a Winter Fisherman's Breakfast and Awards sometime soon. Congratulations again to Chris and Brian Eckstein for making Angler of the Year! Congratulations to the Classic Winners Bubba West and Kevin Brooke with 12lbs 8 ozs. 2nd place went to Jerry Jenkins and Ricky West with 8 lbs 13 ozs. And a third place tie went to Carl Bex/Kevin Charity and Tommy Reamer/Dallas Hughes with 8lbs even. That Big (Beautiful) Fish went to Chris Eckstein at 5lbs 13 ozs. See ya'll next year.
BIG BASH OPEN BASS TOURNAMENT (BBOBT) GENERAL INFORMATION
Five open tournaments are held throughout the summer for fisherman to accumulate points towards a final closed BBOBT in October. The top 20 teams compete in the final closed tournament to determine Beaverdam Park's top fisherman of the season. The fee for each tournament is: $45 per boat for annual pass holders and $50 per boat for non-pass holders. Tournaments are held during the months of March, April, May, June and September. All tournaments are held at Beaverdam Park's Main Entrance.
- Cash or Check are the only forms of payment collected in the Ranger Station at Beaverdam Park.
2017 dates are: March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, September 16 and Big Bash Classic October 21. The 2017 Open Tournament Payouts are: 1st-$325, 2nd-$225, 3rd-$125, 4th-$100, 5th-$75 with a Big Fish prize of up to $500. Payouts are prorated based on participation. $1,000 First Place payout for the Big Bash Classic is guaranteed. Tournaments are sponsored by Park Partners, Inc and Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
