Services

The Community Engagement & Public Information Department ensures that factual, up-to-date information regarding Gloucester County Government is provided to its citizens. This is accomplished through leveraging a variety of media to reach as many residents and visitors as possible in the County. The Department fosters local and school partnerships, and works to engage citizens to access resources and opportunities to shape their community.

County Videos

Gloucester County’s YouTube channel offers a robust selection of videos depicting Gloucester County and Gloucester County Public School events, projects, and meetings. Our YouTube channel is broken down into playlists, making it easy to seek out what subject matter you desire to view. Most of our videos are produced in-house, offering an in-depth look into the programs and projects that your County Government and school system is offering.

Current Conversations Podcast

Gloucester's Community Engagement & Public Information Department has launched the County's first Podcast, "Current Conversations." The podcast will feature a different topic each month and will be published the first Wednesday of each month on the County's website and where you listen to your favorite podcast.

Morning Show

Exciting news! Gloucester County has started producing a monthly morning show, to highlight some of the projects your local public servants are working on. You can watch this online, or on Cox Cable Channel 48.

This episode, published on Feb. 22, highlights the work County employees have been doing over the past few weeks.

February in Gloucester means love -- and The Beehive -- is in the air! Public Communications/Media Specialist Savannah Haugdahl goes over some recent accomplishments and upcoming programs. Watch the 2023 State of the County Address, catch up on local history, fill your calendar with library events and find out what's been happening at our schools.

Town Crier

The official digital newsletter of Gloucester County, Virginia. The Town Crier features important announcements, county news, upcoming events, and resources for the community and local nonprofits. It’s always available online, or you can sign up to get this emailed to you weekly by clicking here.

The Beehive Periodical

The Beehive is a quarterly community newsletter, free to all county residents, containing information about county news and resources, volunteer information, community events, and classes and activities for youth and adults.

Click on the cover to access the most recent edition. In spring’s Beehive, you can make sure you’re prepared to vote in the upcoming presidential primary, check out the sports and park activities on our calendar as the weather warms up, plan outings to local concerts and historical events or find ways to volunteer in the community.

Since the Fall 2023 edition, we’ve gone digital, but you can still visit either of Gloucester’s public libraries to pick up a print copy (we anticipate they will be printed by mid-February). Access the Winter 2023 PDF here. You can also go back and review the Fall 2023 issue here.

CE&PI Annual Report

The Annual Report highlights the milestones the Department has achieved over the past year and includes a look into top priorities of the Department moving into the next year.

Our goal is to empower every citizen to engage in building a safe, supportive, and successful community by facilitating and connecting families and individuals with information and opportunities that enhance and enrich their daily lives through the utilization of community resources.
