Our office consists of six full-time prosecutors. Each of our attorneys prosecutes cases in the Gloucester County General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court and the Circuit Court.

The Victim-Witness Assistance Program is also housed within this office. It is responsible for assisting victims of crimes as their cases proceed through the criminal justice system.

Location & Establishment

The Gloucester Victim/Witness Assistance Program is located in the Gloucester Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office. The Victim/Witness Assistance Program is funded through grants provided to Gloucester County through the Department of Criminal Justice Services and was first established in 1990.

Victim Rights

If you are a crime victim or witness, we are here to help you. Victims and witnesses to crime have certain rights under Virginia's Crime Victim and Witnesses Rights Act. The Victim/Witness Assistance Program is designed to support individuals affected by crime and explain their rights within the criminal justice system. Our program staff consists of specially trained advocates to assist with: crisis intervention; explanation of the criminal justice system and what to expect; referrals to community agencies for counseling and financial assistance; petitioning for a protective order; and filing a claim with the Virginia Victim's Fund for out-of-pocket expenses.
